I got this request yesterday and here is the remix!

"Minute By Minute" was the second single issued from the LP of the same name after the #1 hit "What A Fool Believes" and it peaked at #14. Written by Micheal McDonald and Lester Abrams who was a singer, songwriter, musician and producer playing with such artists as B.B. King, Stevie Wonder, Peabo Bryson, Quincy Jones, Manfred Mann, Brian Auger, The Average White Band, The Doobie Brothers, Rufus and many others.

Two of his co-compositions appeared on the Grammy Award–winning album Minute by Minute, the second was "Open Your Eyes" written with McDonald and Patrick Henderson. It was nominated for a Grammy but lost out to "What A Fool Believes". Funny how that worked out, eh?

The song also represented the subtle shift towards R&B and soul with the keyboards being brought forward in the mix and it peaked at #74 on that chart and fared better on the Adult Contemporary chart where it peaked at#13.

On July 30, 1979, The Doobie Brothers performed the song on the Dinah Shore show and it has become a live concert staple since and the studio version appeared on their three greatest hits compilations. There are at least four different live recordings available.
