James Juke’s ‘You Control My Pleasure’ EP lands on REK’D this November following the launch of Rekids’ newest sibling label in October. It comes hot on the heels of St. David’s ‘4 DJ's Only EP’, which won support from the likes of Dam Swindle, TSHA, Bambounou, HAAi, Nic Fanciuli & many more.

The title track of James Juke’s ‘You Control My Pleasure’ EP starts the release off with lush, loopy house chords, a repeating vocal and tasty bass licks. It’s a tool perfect for the dance, followed by ‘Bass and Treble’, which boasts a jazz-inflected lounge vibe with infectious groove and an earworm hip-hop vocal. Juke’s ‘Funky Feeling’ then comes in with hard-hitting, shuffling rhythms and rave-ready 303s and, as the name suggests, plenty of passionate funk and feeling. It’s a late-night peak time cut, coming before ‘Friday Too, ’ which closes the EP on a classy tip with clean drums, chord melodies, and a hyped vocal.

"This is my first ever EP where all the tracks were made within a few cohesive weeks. I enjoyed a period of real inspiration after returning to NY from shows in Germany at both Golden Pudel and Golden Gate. I channelled some particularly memorable moments into these four tracks, which exemplify a variety of my underground influences: from swingin' drums and filtered samples of jackin' house to ravey stabs and rolling basslines suited for peak time moments." - James Juke

Brooklyn-based James Juke is a producer rooted in classic house music, blending elements of disco, jackin’, and garage on labels like Nervous Records and Frappé.
