He was born Limmie Snell and taking the stage name of Lemmie B Good, was signed to Columbia Records at the age of 11 in 1961 and released one single "Dancing Angel" that did not chart and then bounced around other labels like Mercury and Warner Brothers. He had released the original version of "Good Lovin'" as Lemme B. Good in 1965 that the Young Rascals covered and had a US #1 pop hit with in 1966.
Limmie & Family Cookin' formed in the early 70's Alabama with his twin sisters Martha and Jimmie who recorded with the legendary writer/producer Sandy Linzer from 1971 to 1977 for AVCO Records. When they broke up, Limmie went to the UK forming Limmie Funk, renaming the band Limmie Funk LTD shortly after that.
The UK only single "Soul Rules OK" was issued in 1977 as a non album track.This incarnation included Pet Hammond, Tony Mansfield, Nick Straker, and Phil Towner who formed New Musik, a new wave band once Limmie Funk LTD broke up. These same men formed the Nick Straker Band whose disco oriented single "A Little Bit Of Jazz" and had a #1 disco hit with it.
