Peppermint Jam is proud to present:
Matthias Heilbronn & Monique Bingham - “Something“

Matthias Heilbronn is a long-time friend and Peppermint Jam All-Star member.

From his recent chart topping re-work of Teddy Pendergrass - “Can’t Hide“ , Paid & Live’s “All My Time” feat. Lauren Hill, his self-titled release “Funky Shit“ to his amazing project Deep Zone with Mike Delgado creating some of house music’s all time classics, this man has a proper house music history!
From his early days, being tutored by Francois K. to working alongside Todd Terry, Tommy Musto and Peppermint Jam’s head honcho Mousse T. himself, Matty has done and seen it all.

Monique and Matthias first met during their collaboration on Abstract Truth’s “ We Had a Thing”, arguably one of the most influential soulful house records of the decade and went on to release a number of songs including “Now What” on Dave Lee’s imprint Z- Records and “Go Getter” on Papa Records.
Bingham went on to release tracks with the “who is who” of House music, including Kerri Chandler, Quentin Harris, Spen & Karizma, Todd Terry and Louie Vega to name but a few.
Her vocal and song writing skills are from another world! We just love everything the native New Yorker does. Just listen to the infectious “Deep in the Bottom” with Black Coffee or her anthem “Take me to my Love” with Ralf Gum and you’ll know what we are talking about.

Funny enough and coming full circle, the idea to “Something“ started when Heilbronn was in the studio working on a remix for Peppermint Jam. Teaming up with Shakira’s band leader and house music legend in his own right, Albert “Sterling” Menendez delivering the keys, the two created the original backing and decided to send it to Monique. Bingham fell in love and the result of their collaboration is a serious soulful vibe with some very deep lyrics indeed!

When deciding on where to release the record there was no doubt in Matty’s mind that it had to be with Peppermint Jam, where it all started and it wouldn’t have been complete without a Mousse T. Mix. The “Shizzle” Master delivered one of the hottest mixes ever and all that’s left to do now, is to find out who truly is “The Deepest Mothafucker Around“ …
