This is a slideshow video for The Beach Boys great 1973 record 'Funky Pretty'. It was made to commemorate the 50th anniversary of The Beach Boys album 'Holland' released on January 8, 1973. It was written by Brian Wilson, Mike Love and band manager Jack Rieley. Brian Wilson , along with brother Carl, was involved in the production of the track and it clearly demonstrates Brian's growing fascination with synthesizers which would continue to be placed front and center in his future 70s production work. It's been reported that Brian Wilson contributed vocals, drums, percussion, synthesizer, and piano while all of the other band members added their vocals to the finished record.
Some of the background vocal lines have been amplified for this video for easier listening. This is a fan mix and not the originally released mix, but please understand, my intention is always to be respectful to the original version even if some changes are made.
All thanks to the The Beach Boys (the genius Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Carl Wilson, Al Jardine, Blondie Chaplin, and Ricky Fataar) for this fantastic record that still sounds great today, even after 50 years!
