The Reddings were an R&B band composed of cousin Mark Lockett to brothers Otis III and Dexter Redding, the sons of R&B legend Otis Redding. Keeping music in the family, they were signed to Believe In A Dream Records, distributed by CBS Records and set about recording their debut 1980 LP, "The Awakening". The only song to hit was the funk driven "Remote Control" which peaked at #22 and spent 15 weeks on the disco survey, peaking at #6 R&B, then spent 12 weeks on the Hot 100 but not getting any farther than #91 in early 1981. Their next notable hit was the #69 disco charting "I Know You Got Another" from 1982's "Steaming Hot" LP. They continued to record and release material well into the 80's with their last record being 1988's "The Reddings" with their final hit "Call The Law", charting at #16 R&B.
